I’m a linguistics major, which means I swear a lot, I talk backwards sometimes, I know a bunch of useless words and phrases in other languages, and if I ever have kids I’ll treat their learning to talk more like a scientific experiment than a motherly instinct. I love big cities, freeways, traffic, skyscrapers, being a night owl, and the feeling of being lost. I’m a big fan of Kurt Vonnegut Jr. (RIP), JRR Tolkien (RIP), Viggo Mortensen, Barack Obama, and the whole Whose Line gang, two of whom I got to see in person once. I enjoy card games, sex, violent movies, crude comedy, video games, being able to piss fast and spit decently well, playing (and coaching) basketball, being a football fan, and other such tomboyish endeavors. I rarely wear makeup and have lost or broken almost every single piece of jewelry I’ve ever owned, which someday will probably include my wedding ring followed by a conversation that goes somewhat like, “No, honey, I’m not cheating on you, I lost it!” followed by an ugly divorce. So it goes.

Above all, though, I like to write, and I take great pride and comfort in it.
